Lonnie
Lonnie is the lead writer/editor for Champions League Talk. The Canadian resident has been a passionate football/soccer observer for over 10 years. Following the trials and tribulations of European club teams large and small, Lonnie has developed a thorough knowledge of the European scene and enjoys sharing that with Champions League Talk readers. He's appeared on the EPL Talk Show and nationally syndicated radio shows, and was a key contributor to the successful EPL Talk Magazine.
The Gaffer
The Gaffer, founder of Champions League Talk, has been following football/soccer for more than 30 years. Born in Wales, he is a former journalist who now lives in Florida and spends his time analyzing the influence of soccer worldwide. His writing credentials include The Palm Beach Post, Palm Beach Illustrated, South Florida Sun-Sentinel and the now defunct Matchday Magazine.
Matthew Barnette
Matthew holds an undergraduate and graduate degrees in history and is currently an instructor of history in Washington. His specialization is eighteenth century British military history and modern warfare. He has been a supporter of Tottenham Hotspur since 1997 but supports Reading FC because of family. Matthew is a follower of other leagues and teams: Dallas Cowboys, San Jose Sharks, San Jose Earthquakes and the Baltimore Orioles. As a graduate of the University of Washington. he is a huge Husky fan, especially Husky football. He still plays soccer along with tennis and golf. When not focused on sports Matthew loves to watch horror movies, read history books, political debate/discussion and the philosophy of religions.
Joseph Weathered
The first football game Joseph Weathered watched was on ESPN between Manchester United and Chelsea. He'd heard that the bandwagon pick was Manchester United, the "Yankees of the EPL". Surely not wanting to back the gigantic over-spenders of United, Joseph decided to pick the cool, non-rich, underground team that wasn't the gigantic bandwagon pick; Chelsea (I know, I know). Undeterred, Weathered remained a Chelsea fan and is now fascinated by the money thrown around, the coverage and over-reaction of the media and the passion of the supporters. 9479.net is where you can find more of his work.
David McBride
Dave McBride is an American and has been a fan of the Beautiful Game for over three decades. Besides a writer, Dave has been coaching for almost ten years at all levels of amateur soccer. He currently coaches at a junior college in his home state of New Jersey. Before coming to Serie A, Dave was a writer for AmericanPublicHouse.com where he still contributes.
