Quarter-final matchups set

The drawing for the quarter-finals was held this morning in Milan and here are the matchups:

1: Milan v Bayern Munich
2: PSV v Liverpool
3: Roma v Manchester United
4: Chelsea v Valencia

The first legs are to be played on 03 & 04 April with the return legs held a week later on 10 & 11 April. The semi-finals will then see the winners of Matches 4 & 2 face-off, while the winners of matches 1&3 will be paired. The semi-finals first leg fixtures are slated for 24 & 25 April with the second leg going 01 & 02 May.

All of these draws are fantastic and should bring on some wonderful football. I have not crunched all the numbers and run the rule over the reaming sides but I will be doing that in a post here next week. However, based on sentiment I would like to see a semi-finals of Bayern v ManU and Liverpool v Valencia. Bayern v ManU would rekindle memories of the 1999 finals and the miraculous ManU comeback. Valencia v Liverpool would feature a clash of Rafael Benetiz's current team against his former team.

I was hoping for two English clubs to get drawn together, but I suppose that still may happen in the semi-final.

Hopefully, the Liverpool-PSV matchup isn't as much of a dud as it was during the group stages.
